OCC NE USA SSB net is up and running

The Ocean Cruising Club NE USA SSB radio net is operated by OCC members but is open for participation by any cruisers in the area with SSB.
The NE USA SSB net has operated for many years during the summer sailing season (July through September) covering the region from Cape Cod to Nova Scotia dependent on propagation. In the last four years it has been managed by Russell Fraser (Blue Highway) but this season it looked like it would be a victim of Covid-19 as Russell decided to stay in Florida and not sail to Maine as usual.
Over the last few weeks, I have brought together five OCC members to act as net controllers to re-establish the Net and it is now functioning well.
Curt Barth (Five and Dime) started it off in Maine assisted by John Almberg (Petronella) operating from Essex CT while Leslie Perreault (Spellbound) was sailing from Antigua to Maine. Curt has now left Maine to sail south and we have recruited local Maine member Peter McCrea (Panacea) and OCC/CCA member Dr Jeff Wisch (Wishbone) to join the team.
The net, which is open to all serious cruisers in the area, operates daily except Sundays at 0700 local time (1100Z) on 6227 kHz USB switching later to 4036 kHz USB.
