Barton Technical Update © Barton Marine
Thank you for reading our mid year technical update.  Read on to find out about the new and updated products available to purchase now in the Barton range.

The Barton R&D team are constantly working to develop and improve our solutions to your everyday needs.  Our global vision is to improve your ability to lift, move, slide, secure and control rigging applications for leisure sailors and commercial operators.  Our equipment and accessory designs are manufactured in the UK in our own purpose built factory and seek to make your activities easier, faster, safer on sea and land!  The product introductions over the last few months have been no exception...
Outhaul Traveller Track and Car System

For 2020 we have introduced a new Outhaul Traveller Track and Car system which can be retro-fitted to any yacht with an existing mainsheet furling system when it has become less efficient .  Available in three sizes for yachts ranging from 24ft to 42ft the integral upright pulley block includes Torlon ball bearings for maximum strength and performance under load.  Innovative and easy to install. No other supplier offers an Outhaul Kit complete with all the components for replacing an old fashion system of sliders with wheels.  The complete kit will modernize in-mast furling systems into free running ball race systems for smoother, easier movement with safer operation

24905 - for yachts up to 32ft/9.75m - (2.4m track length)

24906 - for yachts up to 36ft/11m - (3.0m track length)

24907 - for yachts up to 42ft/12.8m - (3.0m track length)

Furler Units

Working with input from Topcat, one of Europe's most well known Catamaran builders, our Jib and Staysail furler units have been upgraded.  Ever popular with dinghy sailors, catamaran racers and day sailors, the 42334 bottom furler unit includes a thicker lining within the furler moulding and a re-profiling of the rope containment forks for added strength and load.

The 42336 top swivel has been upgraded to incorporate an 8mm halyard clevis pin which is highly distortion resistant at high loads.  For sails up to 9 sqm, the upgrades are more robust for even greater service life.

  • Rated up to an SWL of 554kg
  • Easy fit with multiple line take off options
  • Stainless Steel Ball Bearings
  • For use on jibs, staysails, cruising or racing

Spinnaker Pole Slider Rings

The 25302 and 32302 spinnaker pole slider rings have been upgraded from an internal ring diameter of 40mm to 50mm.  This enables easier location of the spinnaker pole.  The polished stainless steel fitting still retains the previous level of strength.

25302 - for 25mm track
32302 - for 32mm track

Sliding Door and Roof Systems

We are seeing ever increasing demand for sliding roof and door solutions for sail and power boats and we continue to expand capability and expertise in this area.  Working with OEM manufacturers such as Hanse Group, we are developing high quality, bespoke slider systems to bring design concepts into reality onboard.  Contact the sales team to discuss any bespoke requirement you have.

Reeving The Mainsheet Traveller System
Do you know how to reeve a mainsheet traveller system?  Christian, Barton Sales Manager, explains how in this short three minute video.
To avoid damage to the mainsheet system and achieve the best performance it is an important task to get right.
