These unusual times require things to be done a bit differently! Tracy was asked to do a TED talk but due to Covid-19 it was not done in person, but online thousands of miles away during lockdown.
The brand new series of TED talks are kicking off online with sessions of talks from individuals who are sharing ideas that could change the world, and stories of people who have already have. Tracy is leading the way as the first speaker in the series.
A summary of the talk:
Tracy Edwards MBE, round the world sailor, author and activist, talks about her journey from a school drop out to becoming the first skipper of an all-female crew in the world's toughest yacht race on the now iconic yacht Maiden. She tells the story about how sailing enabled her to 'navigate the waves of life', about finding yourself, your passion and your place in the universe. Tracy continues her battle for equality for the next generation, once again with Maiden, working with and supporting communities around the world to ensure that girls have access to and complete their education to increase their life choices and to build better futures for themselves, their families and communities.
