Despite regular rainshowers and a fresh onshore wind, making for a dull cold day, it was a big improvement from sitting around in a COVID-19 Lockdown.

The conditions weren't the best for photography - a dull day - rain showers - grey seas, the backdrop of 52fters racing back down the Rangitoto Channel in 15-20kts of breeze, was spectacular.

A strong fleet turned out as Auckland sailors looked forward to what should be a glorious summer of sailing in Auckland with the America's Cup, the RS Feva Worlds and all the ancillary regattas.
