Stir crazy? Find your freedom on the water

Find your freedom on the water © Oakcliff Sailing

Our whole country is operating at a higher stress level than usual and Oakcliff Sailing Center want to do their part to help the community get through this. They've opened up facilities to households, quaranteams, and individuals to sail Match 40s, Lasers, and Classics.

Whether it is a team practice, a sunset sail, or a picnic with the family, we want to help you find your freedom on the water. We are scheduling outings every Wed, Fri, and Sat 12-5pm. Email Dawn to schedule your sail.

We're also working with small businesses to stimulate our local economy. We're exploring a partnership with Coach Meeting House to do on-the-water deliveries for their famous curbside slushies, which will help them expand their business to the boating market.

We're also pioneering the development of performance-oriented buffs that include a straw hole (patent-pending). These buffs are antimicrobial, moisture-wicking and UV resistant so they can be used while sailing or playing sports. You also enjoy a cold drink and keep your face covered by turning it around to reveal the straw hole. Performance in the front, Party in the back!

They will be available for sale on our online store next week but if you're interested in getting one, you can email us at and we will send you a direct message when they are available.

Next Saturday, June 6 we are hosting our first regatta of the season and will try out our new performance buffs (patent-pending) along with our COVID-19 Safe Boating Protocol, which was featured in Newsday and Sailing Magazine (COVID in all caps thanks to Craig Leweck of Scuttlebutt;-) We're also still hosting programs this summer and have a gap year option for college students.

Email the Training Program Director Ethan Johnson at to learn more.
