Rivergate Marina & Shipyard is proud to be the yard of choice of several significant superyachts over the past few months as they take advantage of Brisbane's temperate climate, Rivergate's world-class facilities and skilled marine professionals on-site.
Queensland is doing remarkably well in the fight against the Covid 19 pandemic, experiencing a very low infection rate. The State Government has announced no new cases in the past two days and the number of active cases falling.
As Australia relaxes its restrictions and opens up to inbound yachts, Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) has announced superyachts are being granted exemptions to enter Queensland waters to undertake maintenance.
Yachts wishing to sail to Rivergate from an international port simply apply through their Agent on an individual vessel-by-vessel basis with an endorsement from Superyacht Australia.
For the time being, the approval includes a 14-day isolation period, which can be undertaken on-board on one of Rivergate's T-Head berths - with the yachts' steaming time from its last international port counting as part of the 14-day isolation period.
At Rivergate, we are continuing to adhere to strict measures on-site such as providing antibacterial hand cleaners in the marina office and shipyard office for use by all staff and any contractor or customer visiting the offices, marina and shipyard, social distancing, thorough cleaning of all touch-surfaces, as well as regularly checking the temperatures of Rivergate staff.
All persons embarking a project vessel must declare they have a clean bill of health and have not had and flu-like symptoms within the last 14 days.
Rivergate team members and contractors are provided face masks and gloves before entering a vessel, and all protective clothing is disposed of in designated bins.
For cruising superyachts looking for a new horizon to explore, Brisbane is a logical choice.
The City Reach mooring of the Brisbane River is a new offering in Brisbane and is proving popular with the yachts that have stayed here. It can be booked for 14 days at a time, which can conveniently coincide with a spell at Rivergate for service, maintenance or refit work.
A short cruise down the Brisbane River is Moreton Bay and Moreton Island, the third-largest sand island in the world and blessed with natural beauty, abundant marine life and idyllic anchorages.
The team at Rivergate Marina & Shipyard is pleased to say we're undertaking business as close to usual as possible. We look forward to welcoming you here soon.
