On behalf of the NZ Sailing Trust, we are reaching out to you as a valued supporter.
As we know, COVID19 has created for all New Zealanders a very different scenario both personally and in business. We realise this is a difficult time for many and at the NZ Sailing Trust we are certainly experiencing the brunt of these changes.
We are proud of our Trust, its unique opportunities and the impactful changes we have made over 12 years. In our treasured outdoor environment we continue to create opportunities for growth and resilience for Kiwis. As we come into an era of uncertainty, our programmes have much to offer shaping young and old alike.
It is important that our Trust is supported and enabled to continue to challenge, inspire and develop our young people, whanau, and communities.
We were on track for our most successful year. However recent events have certainly compromised our ability to not only deliver on our objectives but simply to survive. Our programmes between mid-March and August 2020 have mostly been cancelled and we have subsequently lost our main revenue stream.
The Board and Paul have responded quickly and decisively reducing many hard costs. Evelien, Andre and the team have supported these initiatives, remain passionate for the Trust and are working hard to see us through these trying times.
In Steinlager 2 and Lion New Zealand we have a rich legacy of adventurers, leaders, educators and environmental champions. This is what inspires us to continue this legacy, developing tomorrow’s leaders, employers and employees, improving mental and physical health, and making a positive impact on thousands in our communities.
We are seeking your help as the NZ Sailing Trust navigates through this next period. Your support and any financial donation would be greatly appreciated in keeping our programmes on the water.
