With the relaxing of the COVID-19 restrictions in Perth this week I'm sure you're wondering if we are able to get back on the water yet. In fact, boating was one of the activities that was promoted as being possible now.
Good news! From this Sunday we are resuming our Dinghy sailing program with revisions to timing, set-up areas and limiting the number of participants per group to 9 + 1 coach to ensure compliance with the restrictions.
Below you'll find the details on how the Dinghy Division are managing the training moving forward.
Dinghy Division back in action!
Yay!! Great news: Sunday training is back on starting this week!!! All of our coaches can't wait to get out on the water and they are hoping to see all of their sailors down here on Sunday.
In order to maintain your safety and comply with the Government's requirements, there will be some physical changes that are outlined below. The Club is extremely confident that we will manage our training activities safely and effectively!
Sunday Training
We are back in action on Sunday with a few modifications to keep everybody safe. The training times for fleets are going to be staggered which will make things very manageable. Social distancing and good hygiene are going to be super important with the following procedures being put in place to assist:
- Opti Green: 0900-1200 rigging on the beach lawn area next to the jetty gate house.
- Opti Gold/Silver: 0900-1200 rigging on the lawn area outside the Opti shed.
- Laser/Pacer: 1000-1300 rigging on the playground lawn. Pacers will only be sailed solo.
- Techno Silver/Gold:1000-1300 rigging on the western lawn near the new outdoor café area.
The Canteen and the DD Clubroom will be closed so please bring your own snacks and drinks.
All sailors will have to maintain social distancing spacing of 1.5 metres while at the Club. The benches outside the DD Clubrooms can be used if social distancing is adhered to.
Only three people at a time can go into the change rooms so you may have to wait outside until there is a vacancy. The Club's cleaners will be preparing the change rooms ready for Sunday.
