World A Class Calendar postponed by one year © Gordon Upton

These are unprecedented times. As a consequence of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, our major events of 2020 (European Championships in Cadiz/Spain and World Championships in St-Petersburg, Florida, USA) are enduring great risks of cancellation or very limited participation.

In coordination with the presidents of the respective national associations and the organisation teams of Cadiz, St-Petersburg, Toulon and Punta Ala, we have decided to postpone the IACA international calendar by one year.

Postponed calendar - The exact dates and periods are to be re-scheduled with organizing clubs.

The 2020 Europeans and Worlds are postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic.

New Event Dates:

  • June 2021 Europeans, Cadiz, Spain
  • October 2021 Worlds, St-Petersburg, Florida
  • September 2022 Worlds, Toulon, France
  • September 2023 Words, Punta Ala, Italy
As for the WGM that was planned during the Worlds in Florida, we will study how to adapt to the situation in the best possible way. An approach would be to conduct an online WGM per videoconference. We will keep you informed.

In those circumstances, the IACA committee and I would like to sincerely thank all people and clubs involved for their responsiveness. In the meantime, our thoughts go to all those suffering, to whom we address our sympathy. We thank all teams who have already worked for the upcoming championships, we will soon go to their great locations to sail, compete and enjoy our community as soon as possible. Meanwhile, and with the support of the IACA committee, we wish you all the best for the coming weeks and months.

For the IACA committee

Ch. Bueche, 30.3.2020

IACA - c/o Charles Bueche

Please stay safe!
