Over the last two years Yeah Baby has been constantly upgraded and refitted by Boatec Australia in Sydney, with major strengthening of all deck fittings and load points, with a proud record of no retirements from any race since the current owners purchased the boat in 2013. Recent work done on the boat includes replacement of all electrical wiring, installation of two halyard locks, replacement of all rod rigging and turnbuckles, replacement of all running rigging, new engine, painting of mast and boom (black), purchase of Norths 3DI #1 and #2 jibs, Norths A2 and A4 kites, and Doyle's A6 kite; installation of new carbon composite steering wheels (x2).

Bought by the current owner in 2010 this 52 has constantly been upgraded to maximise her performance under IRC. All work was designed by JV and carried out by Hakes Marine employees. New keel bulb and bowsprit in 2010. Forward watertight bulkhead and mid bow ring frame for offshore 2010. Mast changed 2013, EC6 carbon rigging in 2013. Side decks extended aft 2015. All lead removed from internal and keel fin 2016. Very competitive both inshore and offshore, recently Overall Winner of the HK to Vietnam Race in October 2019.
