Project #SailFromHome launched to support young racers

British Youth Sailing has joined forces with the British Sailing Team to launch Project #SailFromHome - a programme of remote learning to unite and inspire young racing sailors over the coming months.
Project #SailFromHome, a collaboration between the British Youth Sailing's Junior and Youth sections and the British Sailing Team, aims to engage with, inspire and entertain young sailors while they can't get out on the water.
The project will feature a range of online sailing-specific content delivered via British Sailing Team Youtube channel including home workouts, expert sessions on a range of sailing-specific topics as well as bespoke sessions for members of the British Youth Sailing squads.
Project #SailFromHome will kick off at 11am on Monday March 30 with the first episode of the Monday Motivation Show vodcast aimed at kickstarting the week with inspiration from the biggest names in sailing.
Week one will begin with two-time Olympian and London 2012 silver medallist Luke Patience (top image with Chris Grube) alongside British Sailing Team windsurfer Saskia Sills (above), both of whom have motivating stories to tell.
On Tuesday March 31, British Sailing Team meteorologist Simon Rowell will give his expert advice on weather and tides for Tune-in Tuesday. Simon will deliver two sessions - the first, at 11am, for junior sailors, and the second, from 4pm to 5pm, for youth and senior sailors.
Workout Wednesday, supporting Sport England's #stayinworkout campaign, will feature exercise classes from University of Southampton lead strength and conditioning coach Chris Szedlak, specially tailored for young sailors.
Sessions will then be shared to British Youth Sailing social media channels - Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - where they can be viewed on demand.
The full timetable will be released at britishsailingteam.com on Monday March 30 and shared on social media.
