While the rest of America celebrates Groundhog Day on Feb 2nd, here in Port Charlotte seem to be celebrating it today Feb 23. Just like in the movie we are playing the same day(s) over and over again. Dee Smith won with a nearly perfect scoreline, followed by Allen Liebel; Tony Pocklington rounded out the podium.
18 boats completed six races over two days. A front moving over the area prevented water from flooding on the incoming tide, causing a delay on Saturday, but three races got done. Sunday brought glorious sailing conditions and we completed three more races.
The CanAm series wraps up in March with CanAm5 (March 27-29). The club, the class and the fleet are always welcoming new sailors with great hospitality, sailing and charters.
