  • Dylan Fletcher and Stu Bithell with work to do in eighth overall
  • Three medal races commencing from 1355hrs local time (2.55am UK) in the following order: Nacra 17, 49erFX, 49er
  • Racing streamed LIVE tomorrow on the British Sailing Team website and social media accounts

What they said:

John Gimson (36, Congleton, Cheshire), Nacra 17

"Today being cancelled doesn't make any odds to us. I think it was the right decision. It's been really unstable all day and the only breeze came with thunder and lightning, and no one wants to go out in that.

"Looking forward to tomorrow, there is still a lot to play for and a lot of points up for grabs. Most of the fleet has picked up a discard so we are looking for two counters and see what we need for the medal race. But when you have a shorter series the whole leaderboard changes really quickly."

Saskia Tidey (26, Portland, Dorset), 49erFX

"Wow that was a long day of waiting. We are pretty disappointed not to get racing today but probably best to stay ashore in the lightning. Melbourne has been a very dramatic venue for weather.

"We are looking forward to getting back out on the water tomorrow for the final day of racing. Nothing changes, waiting and patience is part of our sport, you just have to manage it well. Tomorrow will be about settling back into normal race prep and routine. We are ready to fight."
