Euromarina Optimist Trophy at Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja - Day 3

by Marta Aguilar 25 Jan 2020 23:44 PST 23-26 January 2020

The Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja Trophy reaches its final stretch after overcoming the third day today. A day that has been the worst of all in terms of wind conditions, very unstable with many changes of direction and little intensity or almost no wind. Some ingredients that have led to meet only one test for the gold group and another for silver, bronze and pearl have gone blank, despite trying on several occasions.

In this final series, the Irishman Rocco Wright (HYC) has not had his day and that 31st place has deprived him of taking the final blow to sentence the Torrevieja race. That partial, after the discard applied, leaves him with 7 points, for 15 of the second of the table, the Italian Niccolò Pulito (TMV - National Italy Team) who has been successful with a partial victory. The provisional bronze is also for another Italian sailor: Alessandro Cortese (CV Crotone National Italy Team) who is left with 18 points after signing a 9th today.

In women, the Italian Lisa Vucetti (SV Barcola Grignano - National Italy Team) continues one more day with a 10th in this penultimate day. At the moment, in the absence of a day and at least two races, the Catalan Nora García (CN Masnou) and the Polish Ewa Lewandowska (AZS AWFiS Gdansk) accompany him on the podium.

With regard to the SUB13, two Spaniards lead the provisional classification. Tim Lumbat (Balearic Sailing Federation) is first, while in females the first of the table is the Valencian Blanca Ferrando (RCN Valencia). Adriana Castro, meanwhile, remains the best ranked in terms of the premises, even though today has not been her day, signing a 60th gold group.

Tomorrow Sunday, January 26, last day of the Euromarina Optimist Trophy, the committee plans to complete at least two tests. At the end of the day at sea, it is expected to be able to celebrate the delivery of trophies at the club's facilities.
