The Boat Works has welcomed its latest onsite partner, third generation boat builder, Whittley Marine Group, representing close to 70 years of boating expertise and craftsmanship.

Whittley Gold Coast Sales is the new Whittley Marine retail sales arm. Proudly Australian-made since 1953, the company produces a number of series across sports boats, fishers, cruisers and day boats across a 13-model range.

The new undercover retail showroom stocks a large range of turn-key Whittley fiberglass boat packages, exclusively supplied with the Group's leading partners, Volvo Penta stern drives, Yamaha outboards, Mackay trailers and Garmin and Fusion electronics. The new retail facility also offers customers post purchase service options; on site finance and insurance via Yamaha's YMF and YMI services.

Laurie Jackson, Sales Manager at Whittley Gold Coast said "The timing is right to create Whittley's own retail yard on the Gold Coast, at Factory 8 & 9 boatworks drive, Coomera."

"Continuing on from the successful release of three new models at the 2019 Melbourne Boat Show and an exciting new model development program under way, we are committed to providing customers a unique closeness to the factory throughout their new boat buying experience, and we aim to continue to expand the brand on the Gold Coast."

Located in the heart of the Gold Coast's Marine Precinct, within The Boat Works, the Whittley Gold Coast Sales headquarters is complemented by the ideal boat buying environment, including a waterfront restaurant, marina and the largest concentration of marine trade businesses in the country.

"Being located right on the water and in the heart of Australian boating in the Coomera Marine Precinct, the whole business is abuzz as we look to continue to welcome new Whittley boat owners to the extended Whittley Family," Mr Jackson added.

Neville Whittley, Managing Director at Whittley Marine Group, said "The Whittley brand is extremely strong in Australia with each state having active boat owners clubs and being well known for its legally trailerable sports cruiser, CR series. The brand looks forward to expanding its fishing boat credentials through the affordable FF and offshore SL series of Yamaha outboard powered packages."

Whittley boats are handmade by skilled craftspeople in Melbourne and are specifically designed for the Australian boating environment and our unique boating requirements.

The Boat Works' owner, Tony Longhurst said "We are thrilled to be welcoming an iconic and family-owned and operated business to the facility. We are proud to support quality Australian-made boats and know the local market will embrace their range."

The Boat Works General Manager, Shane Subichin said the rapid expansion of The Boat Works was fuelled by the aim to offer more choice to the boating public.

"Whittley Boats offers just that with its versatile range and turnkey packages. They make the perfect Broadwater boats. I am excited to see the continued growth and options presented for our customers here onsite."

Be sure to check out the expanding Whittley range at this year's Sanctuary Cove Boat Show 21-24th May.
