In the morning there was the classic Auckland Summer's day of two conflicting sea-breezes - one for each of the east and wet coast.
To the surprise of some locals, the westerly seabreeze didn't cancel out the easterly - in fact quite the reverse and built nicely into one of the days - bright sun, nice waves and a steady seabreeze to put your back into.
Those picture perfect conditions lasted for the racing in the 49erFX and Nacra 17 racing, before the day dulled over and eventually the westerly began to creep in.
