Organised by Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, the BuyAssociation Lipton Trophy takes place this Saturday 30 November in the eastern waters of Victoria Harbour.

Property investment company, BuyAssociation has pledged its support to the 2019-2020 Series for the second year in a row with supporting sponsor Peroni beer.

BuyAssociation Lipton Trophy is a pursuit race and is the second of four events that make up the Top Dog Trophy Series 2019-2020. The first event was last weekend's Solaris Yachts Around the Island Race and the following two (also pursuit races) are the BuyAssociation HKRNVR Memorial Vase (29 February 2020) and BuyAssociation Tomes Cup (25 April 2020).

All of the events are pursuit races meaning each boat or class of boats are given staggered start times based on their assigned handicap rating (RHKATI number) which, in a perfect race, should result in all boats finishing at the same time.

The series is open to all boats of the IRC Big Boat, Dragon, Etchells, Flying Fifteen, Impala, J/80, Pandora, Ruffian and Sportsboat classes. Boats from other classes may also be considered by the Race Committee on prior application. The first start is scheduled at 1400hrs and start times for each class have been calculated to give everyone a chance to be first over the line at the target finish time of 1630hrs.

The prize-giving for the BuyAssociation Lipton Trophy will be held at Kellett Island after racing at approximately 1830hrs.
