The Mitre10 MEGA Laser Nationals will be held in New Plymouth 16-19th January 2020.

This event will be a lead-up for many NZ sailors planning to compete in the Worlds in Melbourne/Geelong in February/March. The NZ Nationals are expected to attract at least 100 competitors with Masters age-group sailors making up more than half the fleet. Women are expected to be well represented in the Laser Radial class.

There will be separate starts for 4.7s, Radials and Full Rigs with separate starts also for Open and Masters groups. The open sea off New Plymouth traditionally offers the complete range of weather and sea conditions available in New Zealand along with true winds, all making for some great racing.

The New Plymouth Yacht Club, right on the beach in the harbour, has a compound which will accommodate the entire fleet between races and the large clubhouse helps with socialising after racing. Coaching sessions will be arranged for 14th and 15th Jan. Laser sailors of all abilities are encouraged to enter now.
