WesCom launches Environmental Impact Charter at METSTRADE 2019

by Zak Hillard 14 Nov 2019 08:08 PST 19-21 November 2019

WesCom Signal and Rescue, a global supplier of marine distress signals, confirms its attendance at METSTRADE - the world's largest marine equipment, materials and systems exhibition - which takes place in Amsterdam later this month.

On the stand this year, WesCom will be showcasing its range of high-quality marine safety products along with its training videos and animations. These invaluable assets are being utilised by various maritime training establishments, including the RNLI, United Kingdom Ministry of Defence and the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution, which help to save lives through teaching handlers how to correctly use these products, via a globally accessible digital platform.

WesCom is also proud to announce the launch of its green initiative - WesCom's Environmental Impact Charter - at the show, highlighting the need for companies to operate in more environmentally responsible ways.

Bianca Jayne-Carr, founder of The Final Straw Solent - a community motivated to shedding light and taking action on the damaging impacts of plastic pollution - has partnered with WesCom to consult and guide the company. Bianca has worked with over 250 companies to date, driving businesses to be more environmentally aware and help sustain the world for the future. Bianca will be on the stand to discuss WesCom's new initiative on Tuesday 19 November.

Bianca comments, "We are really excited to be working with WesCom on its Environmental Impact Charter. As a non-profit, Community Interest Company, we are passionate about working with local businesses to help them minimise their environmental impact and future-proof our local seas and wider oceans. We have some great plans in the pipeline and look forward to sharing these."

Chris Feibusch, Director of Global Marketing and Communications at WesCom Signal and Rescue, adds, "We are looking forward to returning to METSTRADE for another year and are honoured to have Bianca joining us on our stand to share our green initiative aims. WesCom Signal and Rescue has been dedicated to marine safety for over 100 years and we understand the importance of taking further steps towards environmental responsibility and protecting marine life, as well as human lives out at sea."

As the global platform for the leisure marine industry, METSTRADE showcases the launch of hundreds of innovative new products, provides exclusive networking opportunities and knowledge sharing hubs for thousands of professionals, and encourages new business introductions and the start of long-term partnerships.

WesCom Signal and Rescue is world renowned for its marine safety equipment and is trusted by the world's navies, lifeboat and rescue services, merchant fleets and airlines, as well as by fishing vessels and leisure craft.
