The Poole Harbour Boat Show is now officially launched for a return in 2020 to the spectacular boating hotspot of Poole. The show will run from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June and is already shaping up to be the most exciting to date.

The 2020 Show, which is now second only to Southampton Boat Show in the UK was officially launched at the RNLI College last Thursday, 24th October. The kick off event was attended by stalwarts of the UK marine industry alongside many local businesses, with the level of interest and support for 2020 being unprecedented.

Over drinks and canapés, Jim Stewart, CEO Poole Harbour Commissioners, introduced the exciting plans for the 2020 show so far, including the addition of a Seafood Festival which will showcase local produce taken from waters around the region. Of particular importance, he also shared the key themes for the 2020 show, which will be safety and the environment.

Other plans include delivering the most captivating on water displays, an attempt to break a Guinness World Record and a marine careers showcase.

The show has played a key role in getting new people out on the water by providing free taster sessions and this will continue in 2020. A very successful ongoing partnership with local training centre Rockley Water Sports will be providing everybody the opportunity to experience stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and dinghy sailing.

Jim Stewart summarised by saying, "We see ourselves as a community port and this is our way of giving back to the community by hosting Poole Harbour Boat Show. It's grown from attendances of 5,000 at the first event to around 32,000 this year, the fifth show. Already 60 per cent of marina spots have been taken for next year's show and 45 per cent of stands are booked."

The Poole Boat Show has something for everyone, from sail and motor boat owners, water sports enthusiasts, to families who are yet to experience the joy of being out on the water. With some of the biggest names in the marine industry showcasing their latest equipment and providing advice, to demonstrations, fireworks and live music, make sure the show is on your 'to visit list' in 2020.
