2020 Sunfish US Masters Championship to be held at at Wawasee Yacht Club, Syracuse, Indiana

The Sunfish Class announces its 2020 US Sunfish Masters Championship regatta will be hosted by Wawasee Yacht Club, Syracuse, IN, September 11-13.

As the Notice of Race and other information becomes available, it will be posted to the event's web page.

The US Masters Championship is expected to attract 40 or more competitors to this fun oriented, age group events. Age groups are:

  • Senior Masters - 80+ years of age
  • Great Grand Masters - 70-79 years of age
  • Grand Masters - 60-69 years of age
  • Masters - 50-59 years of age
  • Apprentice Masters - 40-49 years of age
The regatta is open to all 2020 International Sunfish Class Association members who are age 40 or over as of September 11, 2020. 2020 membership will be available at www.sunfishclass.org January 1, 2020.

Wawasee Yacht Club provides a warm welcome with full facilities for rigging, launching, storing, and racing sailboats. They host a number of regattas annually and have hosted the Sunfish Womens North American and Sunfish Midwest Region Championships.

Sunfish World Championship overall
The event attracted around one hundred crews to Lake Garda After ten races held in very varied conditions, first with medium-light southerly winds and then with gusty, stronger northerly winds, especially on the last day, the 51st World Championship of the Sunfish class came to an end.
