Saturday evening a World ARC prize giving dinner was held ashore at Medana Marina. A tasty buffet of local Indonesian cuisine was enjoyed at the marina restaurant.

At the prizegiving for the Leg from Australia to Indonesia the results were dominated by those yachts who were willing to endure the light wind conditions with as little motoring as possible. In the Cruising Division the 3rd prize was awarded to Christine, the 2nd Prize to Fidelio and 1st Place to Lunatix and in the Multihulls Division Coco de Mer was 3rd with Charm 2nd and Danica 1st.

Saturday afternoon Skippers attended a Skippers Briefing in preparation for the upcoming leg to the Australian territories of Christmas Island and Cocos Keeling Islands, the good news is there looks to be fine trade wind conditions and pleasant sailing as the fleet enter the Indian Ocean.

This morning under beautiful blue skies and a very light breeze World ARC got under way on Leg 10, the first to pass the start line was Charm followed by Lunatix and Coco De Mer.

The 1175 NM route across the North East Indian Ocean will take in a 72 hour stopover at Christmas Island before finally arriving in Cocos Keeling Islands.

Many thanks for the great hospitality to Soraya, Peter and Medana Bay Marina staff.
