Today marks 100 days to the historic 2019 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race - the 75th 628-nautical-mile race to Constitution Dock in Hobart, Tasmania.

The countdown to the 2019 Rolex Sydney Hobart is building substantially, with this year's race fleet expected to be the biggest since the 50th running of the race in 1994, where 370 yachts started.

"The 2019 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, the historic 75th race to Hobart, is building to be the biggest race in years," CYCA Commodore Paul Billingham says.

"We already have 131 boats entered, indicating a potential fleet of more than 150 boats - something that exceeds our expectations and points to a memorable and magical celebration of the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia's biggest event. If the number of entrants were to exceed expectations, it would make the 2019 race the fourth largest in Sydney Hobart history.

"We look forward to welcoming everyone to the event and can't wait for Boxing Day."
