This weekend sees the revival of the Fireball Youth Championships, last held in 2008. The resurgence of this event has been sparked by increased interest from teams under the age of 26 in racing Fireballs at Championships across the World.

In addition to laying on five races over the weekend, Blackwater Sailing Club will be laying on refreshments, Saturday night entertainment and free camping (tents or caravans) at the club. Further support is being given by several of the members who are generously loaning out their Fireballs for the weekend!

The event will have international representation as we are expecting several overseas visitors: Daniel and Harry Thompson from Ireland, who competed in the UK Nationals this year in Torbay, and Rebecca Fiore from Italy, who competed in the Worlds in Carnac in 2018, and is sailing with her brother. The weather forecast looks good, with sunshine and light to moderate wind.

If you've any last minute questions, please contact Charlie Stewart via email at .

Notice of Race and entry forms available now.

Good luck to all the sailors and thanks in advance to everyone at Blackwater SC for making this event possible.

Some experienced competitors found the challenge a bit too robust Yesterday's Frostbites in Dun Laoghaire Harbour were a test for organisers and competitors alike.
