Rooster Rope - So hard core

It's not always clear what the best kind of rope for the job always is, you might need a strong core, no core at all, 8 plait, 4mm, easy to splice, needs to run easily through a block, there is a lot to consider. So in the pursuit of excellence, value and understandability, Rooster have developed a complete range for the small boat of high-performance options. We aim to demystify this sector of the market to enable you to select the product that best suits your needs without breaking the budget.

Since being used to win the Laser Gold Medal at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 our 6mm and 7mm revolutionary non-twist mainsheet continues to be as popular as ever. With the load bearing outer cover gripping the lightweight inner core the risk of being confronted by a tangled mainsheet on a crucial bear away is greatly reduced.

Rooster AllSpec Pro makes an ideal choice for any purpose on your high performance dinghy. The Dyneema SK78 core and hard wearing 16-plait cover is easily spliced and tapered* giving you a multi-purpose line suited to most dinghy applications.

* The 3mm version of this rope features an unstable core which cannot be spliced or tapered.

8mm Dyneema Braid - Dual Core - Polyester Cover  Designed for use as split tail / dual core mainsheets.

The ultimate spinnaker halyard for kink free, high wear resistance applications. Featuring a red and navy fleck on lime for easy identification on the water. Sold per meter. Check out how our ambassadors got on at the RS Games when they made the switch to Steve's "magical golden string"

The ideal dinghy halyard for boats that use rope and valley cleats. With a 16 plait Technora/Polyester twist mix outer for superior wear resistance and cleating, and an inner core of 12 braided pre-stretched SK78. This combination means it will not stretch and can be tapered to reveal just the inner core for those who want super-light solution. This halyard should help keep your mainsail at the top of the mast and increase the required time between moving the knot due to wear. Sold per metre.
