Entries are expected to flood in for the Oceania and Australian Laser Masters Championships to be sailed out of Royal Geelong Yacht Club on Victoria's Port Phillip from March 13 to 18, 2020. The event is the perfect warm-up for competitors from Australia and around the world who will compete in the World Laser Masters Championships, which start at the same venue just a day later.

Entries for the Oceania and Australian Laser Masters Championships are now open at www.trybooking.com/BDYHL

Early Bird Incentive

With a high number of entries expected, organisers of the Oceania and Australian Laser Masters Championships may have to limit numbers. As well as ensuring their entry is accepted, sailors who register before Midnight on November 30 2019 go in the draw for a new Laser sail courtesy of Performance Sailcraft Australia.

PSA has donated two sails, one for Australian entrants and one for overseas visitors, and the winners will be drawn at 8pm on March 14 during the Opening Function at Royal Geelong Yacht Club.

Plenty to do

Geelong is also the venue for the annual Festival of Sails and the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race in late January and offers visitors a number of attractions. There is also a Wooden Boat Festival at RGYC from March 6 to 9, 2020. For details go to woodenboatfestivalgeelong.com.au. More information about activities and accommodation near the venue can be found at www.visitgeelongbellarine.com.au.

Both Laser Masters events are being staged with assistance from Visit Victoria (#vistvictoria #vistmelbourne) and Geelong Major Events.

Laser Masters sailors are also reminded that applications to enter the Laser Masters World Championships at Geelong open on September 18, 2019, at 00:01 US Central Time. To enter click here.

Sailors are urged to visit www.laser2020.com.au where they can sign up for regular email newsletters which contain more details about the events, as well as sailing tips and venue details. While on the site, they can also download the Laser 2020 app.
