The Chase Sailing Club gets ready for a bumper Blaze Inland Championships

On the 5th and 6th of October the Blaze fleet will make their way to the reservoir venue of Chasewater for a weekend of tight and competitive racing for the Allen Inland Championships.

After such a great Nationals at Brixham this year, the Blaze fleet is expecting another well-attended event with around 30 boats competing for the title of Inland Champ. Chase SC has a strong home fleet with many of the locals expected to be strong contenders to take the title, especially current National champ Eden Hyland.

Chase Sailing Clubs youth organiser and keen Blaze sailor, Alex Walton commented "I'm really looking forward to welcoming the Blaze fleet to Chasewater. The sailing area is a great central location for all visitors, set in the beautiful surroundings of Chasewater country park boasting a 900-hectare reservoir which will offer some very exciting, tight racing. We have a strong fleet of 10 very active blazes, all of which are raring to get going for the inlands.

As this is the first time we will be hosting the inlands, the club aims to make it a very special occasion. There will be onsite camping and motor home space available, food on Saturday night as well as live entertainment. The bar will also be open on Friday night too."

Entry for the Blaze Inlands is only £25 if entered before the 25th of September. Entry after this date will rise to £45. All entrants must be members of the Blaze Class Association to take part, however, new Blaze members get their first year's membership free. So, with readily available second hand boats, now's a great time to get amongst it!
