The Low Down on everything GLOVE

Gloves - Gain the Upper Hand

When it comes to sailing, hands can be pretty integral to your success on the water... if you can't feel your fingers or the sheets keep slipping away from you, you're not in for a good ride. Everyone at Rooster spends a lot of time on the water, so no glove goes unscrutinised at any time of the year. We think you might benefit from some insight into our range and how it is carefully designed and has been constantly tweaked and perfected to achieve the reliability it has now.

Our Dura Pro range is well suited to mainsheet trimming; where releasing the sheet is just as important as pulling in. With double layer top quality abrasion resistant Amara on all high load/stress areas, these gloves are extremely supple with excellent grip and are perfect for all helming duties. Available as Dura Pro 5s or as Dura Pro 2s

Pro Race Gloves are the result of many years of hard work, developing and refining; finally testing them hard for over 8 months in various conditions. Pro Race gloves are pure grip, familiar to the dinghy sailor using a material that we import specially from Japan straight to the palm of your hand. Also available as Pro Race 5s and Pro Race 2s...

Our warmest glove yet. We have combined the insulating qualities of our Neopro glove with the wind protection properties from our AquaPro glove to create the ideal winter glove. Durability is enhanced through clever material selection to enable the glove to last longer. The glove has full-fingered neoprene protection that extends further up the wrist to increase blood flow and circulation combined with a tuck-away Aquafleece mitten. The mitten is an additional feature that can aid in removing windchill in between races, on the helm, offshore or on the coach boat - this can then tuck away neatly into a handy pocket on the top of the glove when not in use.

Well suited for colder conditions, we have developed two types of thin liners to go beneath any glove. Those who wear our PolyPro base layers would absolutely enjoy our PolyPro Glove liners, naturally hydrophobic, feeling remarkably dry even when wet, the brushed inner fabric feels warm and soft next to your skin. Go one stage further and our Hot Hands have a titanium lining, really trapping that heat where you need it most.
