Enoshima Yacht Harbour and the waters of Sagami Bay are primed and ready for race day one of Hempel World Cup Series Enoshima, the first event of the 2020 series.

496 sailors from 46 nations are racing across the all ten Olympic fleets in Enoshima, Japan with plenty at stake.

The event acts as an Asian Finn qualification event with China, Hong Kong and Iran going head to head. In addition to that, Hempel World Cup glory is on the line as sailors aim to put a marker down less than one year before the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Ahead of the event, sunshine and a steady breeze has been present across Enoshima but cloud cover has returned which will bring a light breeze for the opening day.

A south west breeze between 1-5 knots will be present at 11:00 and this is due to build as the day goes on. Racing is scheduled to start at 12:00 local time and there may be delays as the wind builds. At around 14:00, the breeze is forecast to be between 7-9 knots with gusts up to 12 knots.

The direction will shift slowly to the south east towards the latter part of the day but the breeze will strengthen.
