Bow Caddy Media have delivered this package of videos covering all the action from the 2019 Hamilton Island Race Week. Please enjoy...

HIRW 2019 - Day 1

Day 1 of Hamilton Island Race Week saw the fleet set out under clear skies and light winds. The forecast for the week is building SE Trade Winds over the next few days moderating later in the week.

HIRW 2019 - Beau Geste

Bow Caddy were lucky to be on board the MOD 70 trimaran Beau Geste for racing on Day 1. Whilst the breeze was relatively light, the action goes from all out action to all out action to lying low and keeping an aero profile. Thanks Gavin Brady and the BG crew.

HIRW 2019 - ZEN

After an on-shore postponement due to high winds, the fleet set off shortly after 1.00pm in a brisk 20-25 knots. All divisions were on shortened courses and we caught ZEN smoking through Whitsunday Passage.

HIRW 2019 - Day 2 Highlights

Easing their way into Race Week, the fleet enjoyed an island course for a second day of light airs under sunny skies. While Pentecost Island was something of a parking lot for many of the cruising divisions, by late lunchtime the breeze had built enough to get everyone home for a finish in Dent Passage in some tricky current.

HIRW 2019 - Day 3 Highlights

The forecast heavy airs for Tuesday turned up with a bang, maxing out at 37 knots by late morning. Confidence and some patience from the race committee, who postponed the start for several hours until the first hints of any abatement showed up, eventually saw the fleets away by lunchtime for some exciting racing in slowly easing conditions. The Bow Caddy team enjoyed a wild ride too, chasing the IRC fleet across Whitsunday Passage in 2 metre seas.

HIRW 2019 - Prix d'Eelgance

The highly anticipated Prix d’Elegance was a great success with even some of the IRC competitors entering into the fun of the event. The winner will be announced at the Presentation ceremony on the last evening.

HIRW 2019 - Layday Update

With the Lay Day marking the midpoint of Race Week – three races down and three to go - the Bow Caddy team takes time out to draw breath, look back on the highlights of the week to date and preview what lies ahead.
