The Aircalin match racing cup started this morning in optimum sailing conditions. Although the sun is veiled, the wind was steady in strength and direction in the order of 12-15 Kts.
The first two days of the competition are devoted to the Round Robin, i. e. each team meets all the other teams.
Robin Chantrelle, Yann Rigal (2018 title holder), Lucas Chatonnier (Caledonian crew competing on the metropolitan circuit) and Tom Picot (gold medal at the Pacific Games in hobby 16), are currently leading the provisional ranking. But nothing is done until the finish ! and local have to be careful to Oackley Marsh the New Zealand crew, lost two matches out of five races against Robin Chantrelle and Australian Chris Way, and the Australian team of Niall Powers, he also had three wins and two losses against Lucas Chatonnier and Yann Rigal.
