New Gran Turismo 36: Instant thrills and pleasure!

by Emilie Piron 10 Aug 2019 08:27 PDT

The powerful bold new-look Gran Turismo 36 is one of the most eagerly awaited this year. American-made, she is designed to USA standards of quality and comfort, while benefitting from the design ingenuity and expertise specific to the Beneteau boatyard. She is the first boat in her category to combine really comfortable cruising with outstanding handling and sensations similar to those of a small outboard. She also offers a wide variety of waterside pleasures in no time at all! She is as contemporary as they come- start and play!

The Gran Turismo 36 has a large hull with zipwakes for improved stability when turning and her deck plan is highly innovative, with specific living spaces for use throughout the day.

A large built-in sun mattress on the foredeck provides a safe and very pleasant place to relax when the boat is under way. Protected by a bimini top, it will quickly be adopted by anyone addicted to afternoon naps.

With her aerodynamic hardtop at the stern, complete with sliding roof, the Gran Turismo 36 combine protection and the joy of the open air.

Two bench seats face the sea in the driving station, so four people can enjoy the thrills of navigation. With an electric glass sunroof the whole area is bathed in pleasant natural light. Behind this a spacious cockpit lounge area has room for up to seven guests. Cleverly interlinked, the aft bench seats fold back and serve as headrests for the extensive sunbathing area facing the sea. The water is not far... A small gate between the galley and the sunbathing area opens onto the swim platform. Cooking meals is a joy in the outdoor galley, which is protected from the sun but offers plenty of fresh air.

The Gran Turismo 36 is bathed in light by long hull portholes and her lower deck also has its fair share of surprises.

The forward peak has generous space for a real owner cabin with a double bed and storage. An aft guest cabin provides two extra berths that can be brought together or separated depending on the crew on board. Midship you find a cosy lounge, a galley fitted with high quality appliances and a shower space, with a cubicle and washroom separate from the head.

Initially designed for an outboard engine, the Gran Turismo 36 will be available with an inboard engine.

With engine power of either 600 or 700 hp (2 x 300 hp or 2 x 350 hp), she reaches top speeds that vary between 30 and 35 knots. The next mooring is ever so close... and returning to the marina takes not time at all! With a joystick on top of a steering wheel, handling the fast Gran Turismo 36 is child's play. Fitted with a bow drive and two Garmin 12" screens, she takes navigation assistance to new levels.

Arguably, the elegant materials and attention to detail on this new boat, will quickly make her a gold standard for demanding boaters.

No time to waste? Beneteau offers the promise of instant pleasure.

With a slender sporty line, she is a pleasure to the eye. With top speeds of up to 35 knots and four seats in the driving station, she offers pleasure under way. With two galleys and lots of living areas, she is a pleasure to share. Lastly, with everything you could want to relax, enjoy yourself and sleep on board, moorings are a true pleasure.

The highlight of the year, see it soon in the United States and then in Europe in 2020.
