NeilPryde Sailing UK 29er Nationals at the Plas Heli Welsh National Sailing Academy - Days 1 & 2

by UK 29er Class Association 9 Aug 2019 08:38 PDT 6-11 August 2019

Day 1

Pwllheli did not disappoint for the first day of the NeilPryde Sailing UK 29er Nationals 2019. Epic conditions. Wind, waves and sunshine greeted the fleet. After four races captured by VRSport.tv, the overnight leaders were GBR 2787 (Ollie Evans/Fin Armstrong). First Girls were GBR 2882 (Hannah Roberts-Straw/Jess Nelson). First Mixed were GBR 2514 (Ben Batchelor/Lucy Hewitson). First Juniors are GBR 2229 (Ben Mueller/Freddie Lonsdale). All to play for tomorrow.

Day 2

Sunshine but no wind greeted the second day of the NeilPryde Sailing UK 29er Nationals 2019. Race Officer Stuart Childerley gamely tried to get one race in but it had to be abandoned as the wind died. So no sailing but a 29er beach clean followed by much social. Plas Heli put on a fantastic barbecue and karaoke evening and the fleet carbo loaded for the winds forecast for day three. Still all to play for!
