In late 2017, conceptualisation of women's regatta began and the vision was actualised in September 2018. That weekend, 50 women sailors participated in The Inaugural Women’s Laser Regatta hosted by Double Bay Sailing Club - organised by women, run by women, coached by women and competed in by women of all ages and skills.

The direct outcome of the event was a raised awareness and participation for women in sailing. The benefit was greater involvement among women and building a community: wives, partners, girlfriends, daughters, sisters, friends who are sailors, those who used to be sailors and those wanting to participate in sailing but not sure how to sign up to the event.

This year's dates are 28-29th September 2019. Book now!

A unique coaching day prior to the regatta with past Olympic Champions encouraged women to take part of this part of the weekend to learn, share, and have fun sailing. The result provided a safe and welcoming environment for women of all levels to participate in a sailing regatta unique in its conception and delivery and embraced by all for its inclusivity and fun.
