VX One Winter Nationals at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron - Day 1

Three races utilising a new short course format were completed today in shifty 0 5 knot south westerly winds on Waterloo Bay. A good start was imperative with each race consisting of only one windward leeward on a 0.5 nm course.

Seventeen boats started with Supervax 24/7 coming out on top in all three races with current Aussie Champion Mack One playing the bridesmaid each time, narrowly getting pipped on the line in race one.

Trying day for some It's Day 3 of Distillery ABRW & conditions almost mirrored those of yesterday, although there were patches of 30 plus knot winds as competitors knuckled down and got into the groove after two earlier days of fresh winds that took some masterful crew work. Rope Solutions wins windy event at RQYS 23 boats competed in the VX One Winter Nationals 2025 at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron (RQYS) from 7-9 June. Over the 13 races it was Chris Anderson, Mitchell Miller and Darren Hutchison on Rope Solutions Rigging Services AUS351 who came out on top.
