A busy summer season beckons for the International 5.5 Metre fleet, taking in the German Open in Flensburg, Germany, the Swiss Open in Geneva, Switzerland, the World Championship and 100th Anniversary Scandinavian Gold Cup in Helsinki, Finland, and the French Open in Cannes, France, before heading off to Pittwater, Australia for the 2020 Scandinavian Gold Cup and World Championship in January.

But it begins next week at the 2019 German Open at Flensburg Sailing Club. It is being held as part of the Robbe & Berking Sterling Cup, a regatta series that has been organized each year by the Robbe & Berking Group since 1995.

The 5.5 Class is very proud to be invited to the 2019 anniversary regatta, which also includes racing for 12 Metres and 6 Metres. It has attracted one of the biggest fleets this season, with the line-up including visitors from Switzerland, Greece and The Bahamas to join the home fleet at this iconic event.

Eight races are scheduled over three days from Thursday 13 June through to Saturday 15 June. The event also forms part of the 5 Nations Cup, a series of events throughout the year, which began in Australia in January and concludes in Cannes in September.

Regatta information, entries and results can be found here.

The final event of the season before boats are shipped to Australia for the 2020 Worlds and Gold Cup is the French Open at the Régates Royales de Cannes.

Entry is open and what better way to get some last minute practice before shipping to the worlds. Shipping options to Australia from Cannes are being explored.

Entry forms can be found here.
