Multihull Central unveils the much anticipated 52ft Seawind 1600 sailing catamaran, designed by Reichel Pugh, for the first time in Australia at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show on the Gold Coast.

The Seawind 1600 has been designed as a luxury performance cruiser, with an efficient hull design and daggerboards for performance plus lift up blade rudders to reduce draft to an incredible 2'1" when retracted. Seawind's signature twin helm also features, maximising visibility while keeping the boom lower for a more comfortable ride.

Performance has been well balanced with comfort however, with large spacious cabins, generous saloon and galley up, and sweeping views from both the saloon and cockpit, thanks to a unique stepped up cockpit design.

The Seawind 1600 'Double J' displayed at the boat show has been especially built to 2C survey compliance allowing the boat to operate commercially. The vessel will soon begin luxury VIP Whale Watching tours from Mooloolaba with Elite Sailing Luxury Charters.

Seawind Catamarans, a fully Australian owned company, have been building catamarans for 35 years and also own Corsair Marine, a range of high performance trimarans. Both Seawind and Corsair are built on the same facility in Vietnam managed by mostly Australian expats.

Multihull Central are the exclusive distributors for Seawind Catamarans, Corsair Marine, Aquila Power Catamarans and Outremer catamarans and have offices in Brisbane, Sydney and New Zealand.
