Do "Marine Online Auctions" create more interest than Private Sales or has the demand for some types of vessels dropped considerably in the last 12 months?
In May 2018 we sold a High-Speed landing Barge named "TY FORCE" at our Online Auction and we had around 35 inquiries about the vessel.
For the last 30 days we have advertised a High-Speed Landing Barge named "J FORCE", for Private Sale which is the sister ship to "TY FORCE" and is exactly the same as J FORCE. To this date we have only received 8 inquiries.
So the question is, do Marine Online Auctions create more interest than Private Sales or has the demand for vessels declined considerably in the last 12 months?
We believe that the Marine Online Auction method of sale creates more interest and for that reason, we will be offering the High-Speed Barge for sale in our May Online Auction.
Boat Insurance
When insuring your vessel it is very important that you are insured for the correct amount. In the event of a loss, complications may arise if the vessel is under or over insured. There is no point insuring your vessel at a market value of say $300,000 when the true value is only around $250,000.
We would highly recommend when you insure your vessel that a consideration be given to insuring your vessel at an Agreed Value Cover.

USA Inquiry Increases
We have noticed recently that we are getting more inquiries from the USA regarding the vessels we are offering for sale at our Online Auctions, this is no doubt due to the Australian Dollar that is now around 70 US cents, and also our database of around 600,000 email addresses. It looks like the days of the Grey Imports have long gone, and it maybe now the start of the Green Exports.
Offshore Platform Supply Vessel Required
