King George held its annual Easter Regatta this year for the Keith Humphreys Memorial Trophy. Keith had been the club's Principal Race officer for many years, sadly passing away last year.

Friday saw the Hot Cross Bun pursuit race, with Vince Horey in a Solo taking an early lead. The RS600 of Michael Izzatt was making progress through the Fleet as was Michael Keates the leading Musto skiff. With 10 minutes to go Horey was still in the lead but was being chased down by Pete Edel in a Standard Laser. At the finish, Horey manged to hold a five boat length lead over Edel to take the win.

The forecast for Sunday was not great and a few people stayed away, But once the wind filled in two races where sailed. Horey, again, dominated in the light winds in his Solo but was chased by Leo Bridger in a Standard Laser and Charlie Shearn in an OK in both races.

Monday was a bright Sunny day and 10-12 knots of breeze. The Lasers looked better in the higher breeze but the RS600 of Mark Healing broke away from the fleet and had a healthy lead over the Contenders lead by Rodger White. Again, Horey won on Handicap with the RS600 second.

The last race of the event had the strongest breeze and this time the Lasers planed away from the Solos and Pete Edel won the final race from Horey and Charlie Shearn.

Vincent Horey is the first Winner of the New Keith humpreys Trophy with Pete Edel runner-up.
