If you have ever walked around Dovestone Reservoir and when seeing sailing boats bobbing about on the water thought 'I'd like to try that', well Push the Boat Out day is an Open Day when you can try your hand and what's best is it is totally FREE.
The Royal Yachting Association are planning a week of national activity promoting sailing as a sport. There will be hundreds of local sailing clubs taking part up and down the UK. At Dovestone, they are supporting this initiative by organizing an open day on Sunday 12th May where people can book on a 'taster session' with them and try out the sport.
Last year the club took over 80 individuals out on the water ranging from 6 years old to 60 plus. Many went on to book RYA training courses as a result of their experience and a number of youths joined the clubs RYA On Board training scheme.
