SailGP Sydney – Kyle Langford Talks Wing Trim on the F50

This time last week the SailGP Australia team was enjoying the celebrations of their victory in the inaugural event on Sydney Harbour.

With the series roadshow packed up and heading for San Francisco we look back at the conversation we had with Kyle Langford, wing trimmer aboard SailGP Australia, shortly after he stepped ashore on Day 2. In this video Langford describes some of the technical challenges of trimming the wing on an F50 and the split second coordinated timing required of all of the crew to carry off a foiling gybe and tack. Of particular interest are his remarks about how much he is having to learn that is different from his extensive experience aboard the AC50s.
