The opening Press Conference for the inaugural SAIL GP event to be raced on Sydney Harbour was held this morning at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron with Russell Coutts, CEO of Sail GP and all six helmsmen of the boats.

The Press Conference was followed by the final Official Practice Day with course boundaries marked, start and finish markers and the exclusion zone in effect. Seeing the six boats in competition for the first time was an impressive sight, despite the light breeze. Australia, Japan and the USA each won a race with the USA beating Australia in the match race.

Post Race we caught up with Tom Slingsby from Team Australia to get his take on the day.

We're looking forward to the first day of racing which commences at 4.00pm on Friday February 15, Sydney time.
