World Sailing is pleased to announce that Scott Over has been appointed as the new Commercial Director for the world governing body of the sport.

Scott joins World Sailing from OC Sport, an international sports event company, where he held the role of Commercial Director within the sailing division. He has a strong track record as a Commercial and Sponsorship Director and previously held posts at several sports agencies and the International Tennis Federation.

A keen sportsman and sailor, Scott is a member of the Royal Ocean Racing Club and has sailed from a young age completing his first transatlantic when he was 17 years old. He continues to sail and compete in the south of England with close friends.

Andy Hunt, World Sailing CEO commented, "I am delighted that Scott will be joining the World Sailing team. Scott will be a great asset to the organisation as we continue to further grow and develop our successful commercial partnership programmes and supporting our members with knowledge and expertise from across the sport."

On his appointment, Scott said, "It is an honour to take on the Commercial Director role at World Sailing. Sailing has experienced big changes, some incredible growth and I am looking forward to being part of its next steps. I cannot wait to get to work with the team at World Sailing, it's fantastic family of members and partners who together will continue to drive our world-class sport and help deliver its expanding potential."

Scott will take up his position on 4 March 2019.
