The idyllic waters of Pittwater were claimed by a fleet of multihulls from 23-25 November for the successful Multihull Solutions Pittwater Rally.

The popular biennial three-day event featured a perfect blend of relaxation, cruising and fun social activities.

The event kicked off from the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club with welcome drinks and a BBQ with participants enjoying entertainment and dancing before setting sail. Winds of 20-30 knots forced some competitors to take shelter while the crew of Fantastique demonstrated some impressive parking skills!

The second day featured an unofficial race from Long Nose Point via Lion Island to Port Refuge Bay. After a few early starts 2 Up Together dazzled with great speed, but it was Bandersnatch who took out the challenge to guess the riddle for the correct arrival time. arriving right on time after some controversy over the riddle answer.

Participants then anchored for the Multihull Solutions Prawn and Punch Beach Party where new friends were made over jokes and bocce challenges with a swag of crews from other boats unable to resist joining in the fun.

Extremely high tides ruled out a recovery yoga session on the beach the following morning, so the fleet threw themselves into preparations for the famous Figurehead competition. No effort was spared with costumes during the official sail-by of the mothership, with highlights including the King and Queen of England complete with a ghost at the helm, salsa-dancing Mexicans, baguette-waving French sailors who tried to bribe judges with lolly frogs, an Italian in budgie smugglers, and a crew of Irish with ginger 'beards' doing everything backwards!

The Rally concluded with the hilarious themed presentation party with a generous bar tab provided by the Down Under Rally organisers. The major prize of a 14-night berthing voucher at Abell Point Marina was awarded to the crew of Fantastique who brought the luck of the Irish plus unbridled enthusiasm to all aspects of the event including costumes, decorations, bribery and their infectious fun spirits.
