Women's International Match Racing Series © WIM Series

We are getting near the end of 2018 and can look back at another amazing season for the WIM Series. We are proud to present some statistics that show the progress WIM Series has made during the year.

With the Helsinki Women's Match, Lysekil Women's Match, the World Championship in Ekaterinburg, Russia, the Swiss International Women's Match and the Carlos Aguilar Match Race the WIM Series has delivered five events in five countries, including two new venues. The expansion is a part of our mission to spread the knowledge of women sailing and match racing to a broader audience in new places.

Over the year, 149 sailors representing 28 teams from 10 countries have competed in our events. A remarkable trend is that we had 10 new skippers and 44 new sailors in 2018.

Since the start in 2013, we have held 28 events in 10 countries for 482 sailors from 85 teams from 25 countries. It's great to see how far we have come since the series started in 2013. We are happy with the growth we see in women sailing and proud to be part of it.

Once again we want to congratulate Pauline Courtois and her Match In Pink powered by Normandy Elite Team on winning the series final in St Thomas and on defending WIM Series title.

We look forward to start planning next year's season and to seeing you all again soon. And we also want to thank all the sailors, clubs, volunteers and everybody else who has supported us in 2018.

Last but not least, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
