GOST® (Global Ocean Security Technologies), a world leader in marine security, tracking, monitoring and video surveillance systems, announced today that its GOST XVR surveillance system recorded the theft of an outboard engine, bicycle and an anchor from several yachts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The high-resolution video footage was turned over to the police to assist in their investigation.

"Recently the attempted theft of marine electronics and accessories has been on the rise in South Florida," Jay Keenan, president and CEO, GOST. "In the past several weeks, our systems have thwarted the theft of marine electronics or recorded the event providing valuable information to the police. We hope that they continue to prevent the events before they happen, or at least in this case, lead to the perpetrator being brought to justice."

"He only took a bicycle from our boat, but the loss of electronics or expensive gear could affect our vessel's operations significantly," said the boat's captain. "I wish we could've stop this from happening, but I hope the video footage we got helps the police find the man who did this."

The next generation all-in-one video recording system is compatible with up to eight 1080P analog cameras and/or ONVIF protocol IP cameras, and is capable of saving up to three months of the highest resolution footage with its four terabyte hard drive. Footage can be accessed locally on board the boat for viewing and downloading to a computer or USB thumb drive, or remotely via the GOST Watch HD XVR app or website.
