Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race covered from all angles

The 2018 Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race is going to be arguably the closest race in history and sports fans can catch the start of the race no matter where they live around the world.

The race commences on Boxing Day (26 December 2018) at 1pm AEDT, and Australians can watch the broadcast from 12:30pm AEDT on Channel 7's 7Mate channel, as well as 7Plus, across the country. 7Mate's coverage will include commentary from CYCA Member and sailing expert Peter Shipway and injured America's Cup-winning skipper Jimmy Spithill, with the broadcast hosted by Matt Carmichael.

In addition to a broadcast of the race start via 7Mate this year and the Rolex Sydney Hobart website, coverage throughout the race will arguably be more thorough than ever before.

Joining the seasoned race media team of Di Pearson and Nicole Browne this year are London Olympics silver medallist Olivia Price and highly experienced sports writer Rupert Guinness. Popular social media personality Nic Douglass, from 'Adventures of a Sailor Girl', will also feature in the team throughout the event.

Coverage of this year's Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race will include video boat tours, interviews, feature articles, news stories, regular race updates and a daily chat show from 26 to 31 December on the race Facebook page and website.
