Hong Kong and Asia’s biggest dinghy regatta is just around the corner! Hong Kong Race Week is also a constituent event of the ASAF Youth Cup and represents Leg 2 of the 2018 – 2019 series.

Hong Kong Race Week takes place 12-17 February, and the entry lists are still open (although the Early Bird discount has just expired). The event is presented by the Hong Kong Sailing Federation in conjunction with the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club.

Serving as a significant platform for promising Asian sailors to hone their skills, Hong Kong Race Week is a feeder regatta to other major international regattas around the world. The recent Asian Games held in Jakarta saw 2018 Hong Kong Race Week competitor India’s Harshita Tomar take home Bronze in the Laser 4.7 division. Hong Kong Race Week Chairman, Peter Davies, expressed his delight in being able to welcome back competitors and invite new sailors to compete in the 2019 regatta. Davies expects that the event will attracting 260+ of the top youth sailors from the Asia Pacific region and afar, including sailors from China, Macau, India, Italy, Dubai, Qatar, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

11 classes will compete in the 2019 edition of the event, including the sailing classes 29er, 2.4mR, 420, 470, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, Optimist, Optimist Green, RS Feva and windsurfers classes RS:X Youth and Techno 293. Sailors will race on Hong Kong’s renowned world-class racetracks which are located in Repulse Bay, Deep Water Bay, Stanley, Tai Tam and Beaufort Island.

We invite you to join us for the best racing in Asia. Entry is still open, and the NoR is available online at http://www.hongkongraceweek.com/
