Back in 1970 Bough Beech Sailing Club was founded as a venue where dinghy sailors from the South East coastal clubs could continue sailing through the winter months on a large newly opened reservoir near Sevenoaks. That tradition has continued with sailors from the south east joining BBSC for the annual Open Icicle Series every January and February. It has consistently attracted an entry of around 100 boats from more than 20 different classes.

The format for the event is a sixteen race series for monohull non-foiling dinghies to be sailed under PY handicap over eight Sundays between January the 6th and February 24th 2019. Racing will be on the "average lap" format and organised into two classes and courses, one for asymmetric rig boats and one for the rest.

Races to count will be half the total number sailed plus one, so there is no pressure to come every weekend!

Bough Beech SC will be extending a warm welcome to visitors again for the 2019 series. All participants, crews and, families and sailing support are extended membership privileges for the duration of the series and boat storage is available at the club.
