Hansa World and International Championships in Hiroshima, Japan - Day 4

by Tomoko Nishi 18 Oct 2018 20:34 AEDT 14-18 October 2018

There was only a light wind of 2-8 knots for the penultimate day of the 2018 Hansa Class World & International Championship.

In the Hansa 303 Doubles, again Yuna Nakayama and Sarina Shibata from Japan came in at the top. Michael Darby and Christopher Symonds from Australia are 1 point behind the leaders, with Patrick Maurer and Christian Hiller from Switzerland 7 points behind the Japanese leader.

So in total, four Japanese teams - with Yui Fujimoto on Hansa 2.3 Single, Takumi Niwa on Hansa 303 Single, Takaya Aono on Liberty Servo - are in position to aim for the podium.

Takuya was struggling with gear trouble at the beginning, "I was very depressed with gear problems because even if I knew that the seat was kinked during a race, I could not undo it. When I was feeling down, my family and Hansa friends found solutions and supported me so I was able to switch my mind. I will do my best on the last day."

Tomorrow the closing ceremony will start at 4 o'clock in the afternoon (18th October).
